INSTRUCTIONS

This post contains the process and outcomes of Project 2 in the module, Motion Graphics and Compositing.

PROJECT 3 - BRIEF:

Task 3 / Individual Task – Channel Ident/Identity (20% - Individual)

TIMEFRAME: Week 08 – Week 10

DEADLINE: WEEK 10

DESCRIPTION: Students will synthesize the knowledge gained in Task 1 and 2 for application in Task 3. Students are to continue with previously chosen channel in Task 2 to create a channel ident motion graphic video.

REQUIREMENTS:

Students are to use information for any proposed channel (*existing or fictional)

• create moodboard that reflects their concept/idea

• style-guide that conveys final look and feel

• storyboard

• animatics

• explore appropriate audio to uplift the motion tempo

Students will start with thumbnail sketches and test a wide range of conceptual ideas through digitization using the appropriate software.

Students conclude by selecting and presenting their proposed channel bumper interpretation in the instructed format/s.

SUBMISSION:

1. Compiled technical doc .pdf (*moodboard, style guide, sketches, storyboard, technical processes as posted in their e-portfolio).

2. Final output will include a 15 – 30 sec video (*.mp4, h2.64, 16:9 - 1920 X 1080, 25 fps, ACC, 48kHz uploaded to YouTube channel).

Week 08

This week was the planning week for our project. The main thing we had had to decide was which brand or channel we are targeting with this project, then we can proceed with the other stuff such as the mood board, color scheme, storyboard, etc..

After the planning was done I moved to the next step, I used after effect instead of premier pro because I felt that the time was too tight for me to start learning how to use premier pro since I don't know how to use it even though it would have made work so much easier .

The first thing I did is that I divided the video for section like Mr Fauzi suggested, Therefore I tried to focus on what the youtuber Joe Hattab usually shows in his video and what his content is mainly about. Joe Hattab have a very interesting and various content, Therefore I noted that Joe usually focuses on the food, traditions and the nature of each country he visits. All the photography I wanted to use in the video I wanted them to be taken by him as he puts so much effort to his his video, music and visuals.

When I started with the work I found out that its so much easier to put almost every thing in compositions cause I noticed from my previous projects that every time I wanted to change I single keyframe for one of the layers I had to change all the keyframes for the other layers, to make it match again how I want it to be. Therefore, I found that creating compositions and doing the edits within the composition is easier and less time consuming.
