INSTRUCTIONS

This post contains the process and outcomes of Project 2 in the module, Motion Graphics and Compositing.

PROJECT 2 - BRIEF:
Task 2 / Individual Task – Channel Bumper (20% - Individual)

TIMEFRAME: Week 05 – Week 07

DEADLINE: WEEK 08

DESCRIPTION: 

Students will synthesise the knowledge gained in Task 1 for application in Task 2. 

Students are to demonstrate the ability to explore and generate an abstract channel bumper in any creative approach with consideration of good audio tempo and visually compelling video.

REQUIREMENTS:

Students are to use information for any proposed channel (*existing or fictional) create mood board that reflects their concept/idea style-guide that conveys final look and feel storyboard animatics explore appropriate audio to uplift the motion tempo.

Students will start with sketches and test a wide range of conceptual ideas through digitization using the appropriate software. Students conclude by selecting and presenting their personal design interpretation in the instructed format/s.

SUBMISSION:

Compiled technical doc .pdf (*moodboard, style guide, sketches, storyboard, technical processes as posted in their e- portfolio).

Final output will include a 10 – 15 sec video (*.mp4, h2.64, 16:9 - 1920 X 1080, 25 fps, ACC, 48kHz, uploaded to YouTube channel).

Week 05
24 Sept 2020

Before proceeding with project 2 we had to do a collage exercise. These are instructions below:

INSTRUCTION: 

1. Follow instructions on the Tutorial demo during online class. 

2. Create your own composition based on the requirements below:

1. Download all of the design elements from this link:
   https://bit.ly/3cHoqZ6

2. Create 1080 x 1920 size poster (I.G Stories size) on Photoshop

3. Trace and crop the images using the Pen tool.

4. Create 1 composition and attach below (I.G poster)

5. Animate the composition for 5-16 second loop with sound (I.G video story)

PROCESS:

This section contains the ideation and editing processes for Project 2.

Week 06

1 Oct 2020

This week was the planning week for our project. The main thing we had had to decide was which brand or channel we are targeting with this project, then we can proceed with the other stuff such as the mood board, color scheme, storyboard, etc..

FINAL OUTCOME :

After asking Mr Fauzi whether I can use the Netflix logo video and put it in to my composition, he told me can do the same logo transition but it has to be my own keyframes so I changed that t something different:
