Lecture Notes and Exercises:

Week 1:
(24.8.2020)

The first class was held using Teams. Mr Kannan who is our lecturer for this module briefed us all the exercises an projects that we will be doing throughout the whole semester as well as the expected tasks and topics of each week.

Exercise Of The Week:

We were required to do basic animation of a bouncing ball so we get familiar with the animation tools of Maya software. Below is the outcome of this exercise:

Week 2:
(31.8.2020)

Today is national day so we had a replacement class with tutorial videos on the different graphs in graph editor. Therefore, I tried to experiment more on using the graph editor specially after noticing how important it is after trying it with the bouncing ball exercise.

Week 3:
(7.9.2020)

This week Mr Kannan provided us with a sack of flour rig as he said that If we were able to animate it, animating a real character would be so much easier. Therefore, we were required to create a basic animation of a sack of flour, I also got to experiment with the camera and the way it works. I believe that there is a lot that can be improved but I'm still trying and taking my time practicing how to animate rigs since its still really new to me.

Week 4 & Week 5:
(16.9.2020) - (23.9.2020)

We had 2 weeks to animate a walk cycle with the ultimate beefy rig. I watched a very useful tutorial on how to create a walk cycle on YouTube. The animator was also using beefy rig as well. Her way of explaining was really smooth and easy to understand which made it really easy for me to follow with her.
